A tiny selection of my favourite 'handbag' books

Top of my list has to be Anna Johnson's 'Handbags The Power of the Purse'.  This little book is packed full of the most amazing variety of handbag designs imaginable. Filled with hundreds of beautiful pictures and not too much text, I could never tire of looking at this book...

Although not strictly speaking a 'handbag' book, Bespoke Savile Row Ripped And Smoothed is Richard Andersobn's fascinating insight to training as a cutter with one of the best 'houses' on the Row... 'Bespoke' for me demonstrates the 'heart and soul' that goes into everything handmade - including handbags. This book is enjoyable, funny and thoroughly absorbing!

Not too serious, but very informative with plenty of colour pics, Handbags What Every Woman Should Know, by Stephanie Pedersen is not only a light hearted look at handbag fashion, but includes a brief history, lots of celebrities, designer names and some great illustration.

Bags A Lexicon Of Style, by Valerie Steele & Laird Borrelli, is another beautifully illustrated book packed with well researched information about every style of bag you can buy, from the 'precious' through to the 'status' bag...  It's definitely worth adding this one to your collection

Surprisingly, just four chapters is all that's needed to cover an amazing amount of handbag 'must-know' facts.  Carmel Allen's book, The Handbag To Have and To Hold takes us through ''the who's who of handbags" as well as the all important "A - Z" of our favourite handbag designers.
